Time Flies...
To think I almost started this blog two years ago is amazing. Time has flown by so quickly. I don't how many people have read, but, a few. It really doesn't matter. Like everything else it will dissipate within time. Sounds morebid, huh? Just reality.
When I started this blog I was so full of concern for my family. Aware of what was going on all too well and thought possibly my views and participation in the political arena could change things. How wrong was I, I seem to know now. I know we are not in control of the future, possibly our own future, but, most certainly not in control of government and world operation.
Blah! Bah! Humbug! I don't even want to discuss it anymore. lol. That is how tired of it I am.
Over and out Brutus! :)

I think I am here for a while.
Hi To All That Read This,
I have not blogged here for a while. I guess I have become totally disillusioned with the political crisis of the world. I think the whole sorted mess is a way to keep the masses at each other's throats, while others rape the world of it's resources. So, anyways, if you have anything to say, please, leave a comment. Talk about anything you like, I don't mind at all.
Right now I am going through a journey of sorts. Finding out if what was, was real or just in my head. If that is understandable? Stay tuned in. :)

The Post Office is about to accept a hike in its rates that would put diverse and free speech in America at risk.
Postal regulators have decided to adopt a plan that locks in special favors to the nation's largest publishers, like Time Warner and Hearst, while unfairly burdening smaller and independent magazines with higher postal rates.
You can help reverse this unfair decision by signing our letter demanding that the new postal rates stop favoring Big Media over small publishers:
Sign Our Letter to Stamp Out the Rate Hikes
The plan to give Big Media lower rates was submitted by Time Warner, the nation's largest publisher. We were stunned when postal regulators chose the Time Warner plan -- with no public input -- instead of another proposal that would have imposed an equal increase on all publishers.
If implemented, the Time Warner plan could push many smaller publications to the brink of bankruptcy.
America's founding fathers understood that the First Amendment would be worth little without a postal system that encouraged broad public participation in America's marketplace of ideas. To ensure that a diversity of viewpoints were available to "the whole mass of the people," they created affordable postal rates that gave smaller political journals a voice.
The Time Warner rate increase reverses this egalitarian ideal and threatens the democratic discourse that our founding fathers fostered through the U.S. mail system.
Please join us in urging postal regulators and Congress to convene public hearings, determine how these rate increases were decided in such an unfair and unorthodox way, and reverse the ruling. Please take action today:
Act Now: Save Small and Independent Publishers
The Post Office should not use its monopoly power to favor the largest publishers and undermine the ability of smaller publishers to compete. With your help, we can reverse this decision and restore the postal system that has served free speech in America so well.
Thanks for all you do,
Timothy Karr

Impeach Cheney
Many of you have been waiting for something to be done about the current United States administation. If there is any time for change, it is now. This is the time we need to show support to our Representatives that are taking the right actions to allow justice to be carried out. Also, it is the time to thank those that have put so much on the line for what is right and what is right for America. Contact your media, Senate, Representatives, family and friends and ask them to support measures to remove people from our government that feel corruption and deceit is acceptable.
Thank you for your time,
Michelle

I've been gone for a bit..hello!
I have not blogged here in a bit. I really do not promote this blog too much, since I have a myspace page that I use alot. So, if you stumble upon my lil blog, please leave your opinion or say hello. Many things have happened since my last blog. We have a new Congress or is it a wolf in sheep's clothing? We shall see. The biggest news for me, is that Democrats are attempting to keep their promises (I think), but it seems Republicans care nothing about this country so they go along with Bush still. It's incredible, but not surprising. It is all a great grand mess.
Anyways, I am going to try to blog here more. Pass on petitions and information.
I want to pass along a petition site that I use alot.
This is our main index page where you can find a listing of the most active action pages on our site.
If there is an issue you care about that you don't feel is getting enough attention, you may create your issue action petition for no charge and start your own movement using the full power of our dedicated submission server.
MOST ACTIVE VOTING QUESTIONS:
Should there be an Immediate Impeachment Investigation?
Should there be Mandatory Paper Ballots for All Elections?
Should Congress Investigate Abuses of Power on Iraq (HR 635)?

Wounded in Iraq: Shattered bodies, shattered lives
This is a must see story and videos.
Wounded in Iraq: Shattered bodies, shattered livesBy Cal Perry
CNN
Editor's note: In our Behind the Scenes series, CNN correspondents share their experiences in covering news and analyze the stories behind the events. CNN's Cal Perry was given rare access inside the 10th Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad.
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- "Ever seen someone have their chest cracked," one of the medics asked me on my first day in May at a combat hospital here in Iraq.
How in the world do you answer that question?
"Not as far as I can remember," I said sarcastically.
"You will," he answered with a sly, childish grin on his face.
I had no idea what I would see and how real the war becomes here in the 10th Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad -- the busiest in the country.
Helicopters land around the clock, bringing in U.S. troops wounded and dead, along with wounded insurgents and civilians. (Watch as medics scramble to treat war wounded -- 2:22)
The job of these doctors and medics is to save the life of someone who has endured "fresh trauma," which means they were pulled directly from the battlefield and taken right into the trauma room. Eighteen-year-old medics are doing things here that they would never do back home. They do it, because they have to. No one can imagine the strength it takes to look another 18-year-old in the face as he pleads for his life, putting his entire future in the hands of people he has just met.
It happens here, every day.
The U.S. military has now had more than 20,000 troops wounded in Iraq and nearly 2,700 more killed. More than 9,100 of the wounded were unable to return to duty -- their injuries taking them home to their mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, wives and children. In the statistical tables and graphs released by the military, they are just numbers with no mention of what combat wounds really look like.
At combat hospitals across Iraq, medics see limbs completely blown off, head "shots and blasts," burns, contusions, compound fractures and bullet wounds to name just a few. An improvised explosive device -- the phrase the military uses to describe the deadliest of insurgent weapons -- doesn't just send shrapnel into the body, it tears the body apart. Americans hear this term every day, as if it's another regular item in the daily news.
What they don't see is what it does to the soldiers. The human body literally shatters and tears. As one doctor told me, "You realize that all we are is a very thin bag of water."
I spent the better part of four weeks reporting from the combat hospital. Soldiers were coming in with legs and arms missing -- limbs sometimes recovered on the streets, bagged up by the combat medics who live with the "fresh trauma" forever.
Doctors at the 10th Combat Support Hospital told me the story of one combat medic who was at the beginning of his tour. He carried in an arm one day with a "thousand-mile stare on his face," followed closely behind a soldier screaming in pain and begging for his life. The new medic didn't know yet that there was nothing they could do with the arm.
Countless soldiers are returning home with the loss of a limb or limbs. Their lives will never be the same.
The American people also need to know that combat medicine has vastly improved in the past 30 years. Ninety-four percent of those who make it to the 10th Combat Support Hospital leave alive, a number significantly higher than previous conflicts. But the increased survival rate also means that soldiers are going home with wounds and injuries that will require long-term care.
It's impossible to imagine how these long-term injuries affect the war wounded, their lives and the lives of their families. Forever.
